How do YOU make porridge?

Has to be oat milk as dairy in porridge makes me gag.

Microwave for 2.5 mins
Salt
Honey
Chia Seeds
Hemp
Flaxseed
Chopped nuts
Banana
Occasionally a square of dairy milk or two, especially on Fridays ;P

You realise oat milk is just oats soaked in water right?

So all you are doing is adding expensive water to oats....

Not really, seeing as most dairy milk alternatives are fortified :)

They also don't take like cat sick when warmed up which is what puts me off cows milk.
What I'm getting at is that it's wasted on porridge, no amount of fortification will make oat milk useful in porridge.. just make it with water I doubt you will see/taste any difference once you have the other stuff in or on top of it.

It's useful in the sense that I like it and prefer it to both water and regular cows milk :P

But no, I get your point. I've tried water many times but the texture and creaminess provided when using oat/almond/any other alternative just isn't there for me. I had it with Almond milk for the longest time but discovered I just prefer Oat. I'd go all out and go Cashew milk if it weren't so difficult to find omw into work.

Depends. I much prefer to make it on the hob but most the time I'll throw it in the microwave

Regular jumbo oats? Just Oak, full-fat milk and either brown sugar or condensed milk to sweeten it
I only ever make cornmeal porridge on the hob. Cornmeal, full fat milk and finish with some ground nutmeg.

cornmeal porridge - grits ? - are you making it with polenta

------

the artificial milk market is amusing, the GenZ (didn't realise alpha is the successor) rebels obsessing over this high markup environmentally friendly milk to put money in the older shareholders pockets.

Overnight oats:

1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup Jersey milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
2 tablespoons almond/peanut butter
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Top with blueberries / raspberries /strawberries in the morning

cornmeal porridge looks like you can't buy cornmeal that USA use to make grits in the UK and that polenta is not the same - different colour but is their taste different

I've no idea what polenta is, they look similar from a quick google but I've never tried it so I've no idea

I use Grace's Cornmeal to make cornmeal porridge. This stuff
