Hi fellas

i'm thinking of geting 2 of the 40g kingston drives and setting them up in a raid aray for speed.
my mobe is an asus p5q deluxe which supports raid 0 and 1.

apart from that thats all i know.

1 do i need raid drivers or does win 7 come with them?
2 the kingston drives have acronis which i assume is a drive imaging tool. is this right?

if anyone knows what i'm on about then you're the ones i'm looking for:cool:

thanks for the help

You need to enter your BIOS and enable the RAID controller. Then you will have to enter the BIOS for the controller to create the RAID.

You shouldn't need drivers for Windows 7.

If you purchase the desktop upgrade pack then it includes Acronis HD. Be aware that if your current drive is not in RAID you can't simply image it on to the newly created RAID and boot from it - it will BSOD as your current install won't have the RAID drivers installed.

There are workarounds, but to be honest I've always just clean installed.

Once desktop appears after install it would be worthwhile updating the Intel Chipset and installing the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and updating the ICHxR drivers, you can find them Here, Here...
