How do you watch you movies?

1. Blu-ray
2. Stream them on netfix, amazon ect.
3. Download from apple ect and watch them.

Poll please

would you like to see a better option in the future >

1 and 2. I'm on budget netflix only, so keep most of my physical media. Dvds aren't worth much so no point selling, don't take up too much room, and cheap to buy anyway. I feel using both 1 and 2 offers me best bang for buck.

1 and 2, but more biased towards 2.

Only really go for Blu-ray's for movies I really enjoy and want the physical copy for best picture and sound quality.

Remember back in the day when 2 years after a movie was in the cinema it was being shown on the TV at the weekend?
We all got so excited and looked forward to it didn't we, We are all so spoiled these days and the 20 somethings don't know any better.

This was before VHS became a I thing….

I think that was still the case in the VHS and early DVD days(80/90/early 2000s).

Haven't touched physical media for movies in so long I don't even remember - bit of 2 and 3 for me though lately I've been watching more YT content than movies/TV shows as so many these days are just bad.

Though I'm resenting the lack of easily and widely available UHD content now - I think partly because a lot of places have been slowly pushing the bitrate and quality downwards lately some more publicly than others and despite claims otherwise the quality is starting to suffer - "1080p HD" is now considerably stretching the definition - and on a larger size Q or O LED it is very noticeable.

2 Mostly from Prime or Sky but that's for convenience and variety.
1 If I have the BlueRay I always watch that in prefeernce to Sky as the picture is always noticeably better, especialy any dark scenes where the encoding seems to make them horrible on my TV but the BluRay is just as you'd expect it. But I don't buy many BluRays Studio Ghiblie, MCU, Harry Potter and the occasional other decent movie.

poll?

re: better option in future..
- would like all content available on all streaming sites at all times
- would like lower monthly costs, shouldn't be necessary to subscribe to more than one streaming site
- would like all content in 4K without having to pay a premium
- would like apps to be less laggy, my tv is fairly high end and the app performance is awful
