How does ryzen boost work

I have a ryzen 5 3600...
It says in the description it can " boost " to 4.2ghz however according to ryzen master I've never seen it get near that even with cinebench

The 3000 series is very fussy with boosting. Motherboard and cooling are very important. Make sure you have the latest motherboard bios and chipset drivers. That will give you half a chance. Make sure you have a well ventilated case aswell. You will not see 4.2 on all cores, only one core at a time. You will also need a half decent cpu cpu cooler.

Well ventilated case yes , good cooler yes ( noctua nh-u12s)
Definitely got the latest bios update

I'll double check later and post back a screen shot whilst doing a cinebench test.
