If the OP is a student or works for the NHS they can Windows 7 cheaper IIRC.
or if you already have vista then the upgrade version includes 32 and 64 bit too

You don't need a previous version of Windows to perform a clean install with the upgrade Windows 7 (which included both 32-bit and 64-bit disks)

i never noticed i thought home editions were only 32 bit and pro version were 32 and 64
i'll get home premium when i sell the 939 bits and bobs bout time i moved from xp pro altho i have grown kinda fond of it

bonus, the upgrade version is £32 cheaper than the retail.
