how far do cats normally go?

Cats are cats, they are legally recognised as independant animals, they are beyond human control.
Which is why you are not liable for any damage they cause to peoples property.

You may believe fluffy bunnykins loves you dearly and thinks about you while you are at work, he doesnt, he stays with you because it suits him and nothing more.

They only people who believe cats "love" them are loonies.

My cat is all over me most of the time, mainly because i feed him.

Most are I grant you that, there are a lot of exceptions though, when I had my cat she really did love us because we didnt hit her or throw her around and made sure she was well fed and we gave her attention :) They may be very independant but they aren't stupid :)

lol my cats been missing for 3 days and has turned up today! hes injured and will have to goto the vet, injured leg/tail from the looks of it. Probably got stuck somewhere or had a fight and went in hiding for a few days. I live out of the way so i knew he couldnt have got run over and we checked the roads close by. So dont worry! i thought he had died somewhere, so quite suprised he turned up today!

We had a cat on heat who dispeared for a week, got some action at the nearby farm!

Had stories of cats dispearing for several weeks or even months and then turning up again.

They do this sometimes. My cousins have a cat which comes to them for food and attention for days at a time, and a friend had a cat who went away for two months before coming back.

Don't worry, it's natural for them to go to other people for long periods of time. :)

As it is getting nearer to Spring, if you cat hasn't been 'done' then they do wander in search of ............. Anyway, make sure that you get her done ASAP as this is the ebst way of spreading really nasty diseases. I am sure that she will come back soon, though, as several of the cats around here have done exactly the same thing over the last couple of weeks. One for 3 weeks and the rest for several days.

Goos luck and let us know when she comes home.

its nice to know they can come back after such long times away from home, got me quite worried as ive been a cat owner my whole life and ones never disapeared for this long before, shes quite young as well (only 2 years old i think) and loves the comfort of her own home, sleeps on my bed a lot at night which is the main reason im missing her :( seems weird going to bed without the sound of a purr at the bottom of my bed

I hope she comes back. Mine's the same, she sleeps on the bed and if she's not there it's very strange.

Hope your cat comes back asap :)
I know I'd hate it if mine ran off because it's so unlike him :/

My cat went missing for about a WEEK before we had him snipped. He ate about three chickens whenn he got back.

To cheer up any cat lovers:

Where do pets come from?

A newly discovered chapter in the Book of Genesis has provided the answer to "Where do pets come from?"

Adam and Eve said, "Lord, when we were in the garden, you walked with us every day. Now we do not see you any more. We are lonesome here, and it is difficult for us to remember how much you love us."

And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will love me even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish or childish or unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourselves."

And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam and Eve.

And it was a good animal.

And God was pleased.

And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam and Eve and he wagged his tail.

And Adam said, "Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."

And God said, "No problem. Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."

And Dog lived with Adam and Eve and was a companion to them and loved them.

And they were comforted.

And God was pleased.

And Dog was content and wagged his tail.

After a while, it came to pass that an angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam and Eve have become filled with pride. They strut and preen like peacocks and they believe they are worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught them that they are loved, but perhaps too well."

And God said, "No problem! I will create for them a companion who will be with them forever and who will see them as they are. The companion will remind them of their limitations, so they will know that they are not always worthy of adoration."

And God created CAT to be a companion to Adam and Eve.

And Cat would not obey them. And when Adam and Eve gazed into Cat's eyes, they were reminded that they were not the supreme beings. And Adam and Eve learned humility.

And they were greatly improved.

And God was pleased.

And Dog was happy.

And Cat didn't give a **** one way or the other.

Haven't read every post so don't know if it's been said but we have had almost identical posts on several occasions and IIRC the cats have always returned home safely on their own

Hope your cat returns asap mrbios. We have a wee moggy of about 5 months who dissapeared last Saturday and she hadn't really been out much before then. She turned up after a day & its worrying thinking somethings happened to your pet.

I was never much of a cat lover myself until I got this one of a guy in work for my wife. Must admit, I've been fully converted as they really are incredible animals. Really hope yours comes back soon.

I hope your cat comes back, same as everyone else :(

We've got 2 cats, Ozric (feral) 7 years old lived outside for the last 3 winters, but keeps coming back.
Moseley, 9 years old, house cat, ran away on bonfire night after a loud bang. But we'd not long got a puppy, he was a bit jealous, never seen him since :(

Sorry mate, If you feel anything like we do, I understand :chin up:

My cat has vanished for periods of up to 5 days in the past. I think someone was feeding him though. He is a pig. Goes from person to person, trying to persuade them he hasn't been fed. Got fed 5 times in one hour last night.
