As a general rule I think bikes should be allowed by anyway, even if its just for the "phwoar look at the speed of that guy, I want one of them!" as they go zoooooming by.
Also the fact that most bikers tend to have their headlights on pretty much 24/7 is in my eyes a pretty good idea too.

Yeah it really surprises me when i pass a fellow biker without his headlight on... It's really quite a good idea to be seen as much as possible.
I must admit I've done a bit of riding "a la Ghostrider" I tend not to anymore as frankly it's pretty stupid and dangerous - but if there is a safe gap I do sometimes filter unless we're rolling at a nice steady 80 or so then i don't see the point in needing to overtake/pass.
I usually travel at 70-75 indicated - mainly for fear of losing/accruing points on my licence. My little episode with the Gendarmerie while in France has curbed my reckless streak somewhat.
Also, 36mpg at an indicated 70 up the M69/M1 from a V6 is something I could get used to
I tend to sit on the speed limit these days. There's far too many cameras about etc to bother going any faster. The worrying thing is that I seem to spend half my life looking at the speedo. I'm convinced I'd be safer if I didn't have to keep checking it every 2 minutes to see if I've gone over 70.
