How fast is your Photoshop ?

Q6600 @ 3.1ghz, 4GB DDR933, 8800GT :)

I think it's mainly down to the fact that CS3 is able to use your GFX card to offload some processing time too!

Well like I said, CS3 is a few secs faster than CS2 for me and I'm on Vista SP1 with DDR2 1000 @ 933 and a fully clean maintained system :D

Fair enough, seems odd that the guy at the top with 3.6ghz only managed 9.7secs but even mine was faster so probs something wrong with his pc.

No probs mate, I know it's not easy to say "OMG WALLHAX!" :p so I have recorded a video for you! please excuse the few ms difference - my reaction times are slightly reduced handling a dv camera in one hand and making sure the lens is pointed at the right part of the screen!

I get 10seconds in CS2 btw and that was with my CPU at 2.5ghz!

Perhaps he's on XP? also he's on a nforce chipset too so there is going to be some difference hehe!

Yup, it seems there is some breakdown of spec here going on that is affecting performance in apps that are processor heavy?

I'm hedging a bet that a combination of drivers and hardware config has something to do with it as well as neighbouring connected hardware ?

CS3 is the danglies I have to admit, it just whooshes through images as if they didn't even exist :D

I wonder what other Photoshop benchmarks exist out there, I once read about a set of benchmark actions that people made - perhaps it was on here even ?

Just a tad shy of 7.8 seconds on CS4 64bit. A tiny bit faster than the guy with 8 cores and 10GB of RAM on a MAC :D

Q6600 3.15GHz, 8GB DDR2 1GHz @ 700MHz, GTX260 (216)

Hmm, Win 7 Pro x64:

As before, Q6600 3.2, 8GB DDR2, GTX260 GPU, Photoshop CS4 x64 v11.01

:D

Impressive! but all that horsepower and only 1.1 seconds faster than a mere Q9550? :D

<6.995 :p

Q9550 4GHz
8GB DDR2 @ 1:1
SATA II WD Black 500GB
Win7 x64 SP1
Photoshop CS5 x64
GTX460 1GB

I can't even recall the x2 4200+ lol. 2006 seems like such a long time ago!

I could give it a go I guess in a Windows XP Virtual Machine, I don't want to mess up my CS5 install by installing CS2 and 3 :p

All the rendering is done on the CPU/GPU so I don't think the HDD matters at all!

4.997 seconds with:

4.5GHz i5 2500K
8GB XMS3 @ 9-9-9-24T
MSI P67A-G45-B3
Photoshop CS5 x64
Win7 x64

I am absolutely gobsmacked how this chip eats Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 for breakfast!

Has anyone else noticed the resemblance to a nipple this filter creates?
