Speedfan has a utility to analyse and display a result of SMART statistics on health by comparing it to manufacturer submitted optimum levels. This gives you a fairly accurate result on how healthy your drives are and I think it's pretty useful!

You are also given a 3dmark like link to reference it if need be. Just wondered how many people out there are running drives that are unfit according to SMART analysis!

Mine:

- Seagate 80GB SATA-NCQ (OS drive)
- Maxtor DMX10 SATA-NCQ 200GB ("My Documents" folder migrated here)
This is my newest drive and has been on 24/7 so I guess the power on hours count is to be expected
:p

Since going SATA I've never had any problems with harddrives, I had WD, Seagate and Maxtor drives that died or failed on arrival before but they were all PATA, glad I switched really but the only PATA drive that remained fast and stable for me for right until i moved to sata was the trusty Maxtor Plus 9 8mb drive...very nice drive!

My 37GB (very first model) Raptor which I've murdered daily for 3 years:

The overall fitness for this drive is 98%.
The overall performance for this drive is 98%.

My 160GB Seagate 7200.7 which I bought at same time as my Raptor and use as a data drive:

Your hard disk is a ST3160023AS with firmware 3.05.
The average temperature for this hard disk is 37C (MIN=26C MAX=50C) and yours is 28C.

What does mine mean? My powersupply isnt providing enough power to it?

Last time I ran it my 3x 200gb Maxtors were all between 92-98% healthy and between 52-59C(around 18 months old at this point) which I've got major doubts about because they didn't feel that hot but as long as they keep going I don't really care.

I've never had a harddrive fail on me, and i've only had it about 6-8 months, i'm sure it'll be fine, sticking it in a silentmaxx soon aswell.

My 3 year old sata Maxtor is
"The overall fitness for this drive is 97%.The overall performance for this drive is 94%"

My 1 week old Seagate 7200.10 320GB is
"The overall fitness for this drive is 99%.The overall performance for this drive is 100%."

Both drives are at 41 degrees, I suppose thats pretty good seeing as I have 4 drives close together in this hot weather.

I've got 2 Samsung 120gbs in Raid aswell but they're not shown.
