How I kept calm I'm not sure...

Because using your foglights does not provide additional lighting in any area where its genuinelly useful and is illegal.

Also, DRZ hasn't got Xenons. This all started as you claimed he didnt know the road very well as he chose to use full beams, remember?

But extra lighting is extra lighting, more lights for the win

if this happened to me, even if i was even slighly ahead of him i'd start to move back into the inside lane, people dont normally like this but thats what you get for speeding up while i try and over take..

as for using high beam, i use it as much as possible to see further down the road, because i dont like hitting pot holes, animals, stuff like that..

if i knew ross was standing in the middle of the road at night though, i'd probably turn them off..

More lights that are actually useful, superlighting the ground 3 feet in front of your car is of no value at all - anything that appears in this area you've already seen much further ahead with your full beams, and if you've not seen it well, you are crashing into it anyway.

You don't drive around waving your hands in the air whenever you see oncoming traffic? I tend to send up a warning flare, and have my car littered with fairy lights that flash like mad.

Just incase

I take it you don't indicate either, I mean it's so difficult to concentrate on other things like steering, watching what's happening and trying not to dribble down your top to then factor in the complexity of operating a simple switch.

You'd risk the life of the CTR driver and you're life by trying to cut back into him?

So I'm more a fool for using my adequate dipped headlights....

What's an indicator? Is that an optional extra, don't think my car is fitted with this said device

i drive a white van, yeah i do it all the time when people dont let me in, comes with the job..

i've never said once in this thread you're a fool for using dipped beam..
but am trying to point out how annoying you are :)

I find it funny how this guy is talking total crap now and trying to disguise his real stupidity with false stupidity to try and make himself look less stupid as if he was being stupid on purpose to begin with. Did that make sense? :D

Is this a riddle?

To be honest this is as dangerous and stupid as the idiots who speed up when you are overtaking. You are as bad as they are, deliberating moving into a lane when you know there is a car alongside you? Just what the heck is it with people in this thread?!

I knew someone would post this eventually. :p

Why anyone does this is beyond me. At best, you're making an already hazardous situation even worse. At worst, you're going to cause an accident at speed which is the last thing you want to do on a tree-lined public road.

If you do get in front, you've got someone with no regard for your safety chomping at the bit to replenish their ego and they are probably a bit annoyed at you for 'cutting them up'.

If you crash and everyone ends up seriously injured then chances are you're going to have a fair chunk of the blame apportioned to you even though you wouldn't have been in that situation had they not sped up.

I appreciate that in the heat of the moment everyone reacts differently but I'd personally always try to go for the action that is the least likely to result in Bad Stuff(tm) happening to me.

i tend to only do it with people who wont let me in and i obviously dont move in fully untill they have backed off enough.. been driving over 10 year, nothings happened yet and i dont think anything will ever happen..

its the way you go about doing it..

The way you go about doing what, threatening other road users by attempting to force them to change position?

Ahhhh you are excused sir. Cos' you drive a white van this exempts you from all manners of acceptable driving behaviour. I suppose you also don't leave yourself with adequate breaking distance from the car infront of you?

Comes with the job probably?

Credit where credit is due, DRZ showed excellent driving manors throughout the video footage. He was right to back off, to avoid causing what would inevitably be a street race between two cars, or in your views, cutting someone up, which would probably end up in death at some point. He even had the chance to overtake again, but opted to not be drawn into the CTR drivers immature actions.

Sooo, I'm annoying for not using my high beams ALL the time. But your NOT annoying when cutting up other road users, bowing down to their level of dangerous driving. Good one Mickie

mate, they're speeding up while i try and overtake and you're saying im being threatening?

no they're the *****

most people back off, if they dont, i do obviously then pull back in the outside lane, like the op done, i dont want to crash but i'd say it is nice to try and get back at these bad drivers sometimes by trying to force them to back off..
