Really, wish this forum has PM facilities to fully vent my views.

Because you're too ashamed to vent them in public?

You've already dug the 'moron' hole deep enough, you can't lose any respect as there wasn't a shred of it to begin with.

Doesn't matter if I've driven a road 1 or 1000 times, it's always the safest option to use your high beams as frequently as safely possible.

Your inability to spot when a car is coming the opposite direction leads me to believe you have rather poor night vision... Eat more carrots and go see an optician.... You clearly need it.

Using your high beams has absolutely nothing to do with knowing a road or not, its all about seeing potential obstacles as soon as possible.

The sooner the better as it gives you more time to react if there's something unexpected.

There is no opinion to be had about this, it's simple fact. By not using your high beams at every possible opportunity, you are endangering yourself and other people. I don't care much for you, but pease try and have some form of consideration for the other people out there. Your world may revolve around you, the real one doesn't ;)

I always knew there were idiots on the road, I get surrounded by them frequently... It baffles me that someone can be so idiotic.

Though the same can be said for most 'my first hatchback' manufacturer forums.

I think the VW guys can generally be excluded from that, as they seem to spend more time making wheels that don't fit their car, fit their car and then lowering the suspension to the point they can barely get off their driveway, so they don't really have the time to go out and be a menace on the roads too :p

Remind me never to buy a CTR or any Honda Type R because I don't want to be associated with the cocks that frequent the owners forums. (Not including Dup/Darryn who have owned Type Rs who i've met ;))

There are plenty of EP3 owners on my site and it's no where near as bad as CTRO.

Please don't tar all owners with the same brush due to the idiots that inhibit there.

There is a reason why I decided to make my own forum in 2005.

Similar thing happened to me the other day on my way back from Tampa after getting a new exhaust fitted. On a road near my house, actually a good one (they do exist in Florida) that's basically just a B road I came up behind a large F350 pickup doing about 35-40. I went to go around him (I was in the GT-R) and after a huge puff of black smoke and a loud roar, he attempted to "race" me during my overtake. This was clearly not a stock F350 and I know they can be tuned to almost 1000 ft/lb's if you want but regardless, I left him standing.

Damn dangerous though, had I not been in the GT-R I'd of probably just tucked back in behind him, it's not the kind of road I like carrying immense speeds on due to wildlife and a few hidden driveways. Not really quite sure why he thought he'd have a chance against me but oh well!

I for one speed up if anyone tries to over take me, you would have to be an idiot not to. Not for any misplaced sense of pride or anything, but pure logic.

I do exactly the same but not for the same reason as you, I do it because I'm a dick.
Anybody who is in the left lane who decides to speed up when somebody is overtaking them deserves to be 3 pointed and that includes me.

I think some people see a fast car and no matter what they are in they simply want to race you. What they don't realise is it's damn dangerous when they are trying to keep you on the wrong side of the road.

In the 911 I perform overtakes as swiftly as possible as most will do the travel at 40-50mph and then boot it when you go to overtake, as such I just make sure I'm giving it 100% to get pass as quick and safely as possible. Then I find if I drive along at 60 or even 70 they will keep with me, whereas before they were only doing 40-50 so yeah odd people about. In such circumstances I just boot it and leave them as I don't want some odd ball following me.

The Jaguar with it's less power I don't get this issue, I suspect it because they never expect an old S type to be doing any overtaking, so no issues in that lol.

but there is still a level courtesy in a race, well, amongst non-knuckle draggers anyway, and pulling a stunt like that makes then a div regardless and just wreaks of massive inferiority complex lol
