How is a 2004 MX5 exempt from ULEZ?

Indeed but like ******* in a swimming next to a non ******* zone, emmisions aren't going to avoid the zone, its a scheme that does nothing to reduce emissions just another tax for those who need to enter the zones regardless, no one is driving in these generally congested areas for fun as it is miserable.

It just forces people to look to move away from the area if they can't stomach the charge, or pushing up the price of goods and services in to the zone impacting businesses etc.

Lots of time and money is spent consulting over these zones which could be better invested in supporting transitions to alternately fueled transport methods which would actually bring down the emissions.

Something to do with the age I’m guessing, although I think it’s heavily swayed against diesels, that said, older petrol cars are more eligible than diesels a decade newer…

My 2006 V70 D5 with a DPF is not compliant yet a 1996 petrol V12 750iL BMW is.

Apologies for not revisiting this thread sooner.

My point was not that an MX5 is compliant, rather that the one I mentioned in the ad is the ONLY mk2 (NBFL) MX5 that I've seen. My own MX5 is not compliant and it wasn't until the NC MX5 with the newer Skyactive engine arrived that they were considered compliant.

As long as petrol is Euro 4 it is compliant. Diesel needs to be Euro 6 hence a lot newer.

My 2004 Saab 9-5 is Ulez compliant as it is Euro 4.

A quick Google seems to suggest that really late model 2005 NB mx5's are Euro 4.compliant.

The standard NB MX5 (mk2) is Euro 3 compliant. Hence my confusio

Like I said the late model NB MX5's are Euro 4 compliant. You cannot tell by reg because it could have been sitting on a forecourt for a year or so but is 04 to 05 models in general.

This one is also compliant.
