How is this for a system

Whatever you do you are going to have to get a better psu. 380w will not be enough to power that lot, especially as you will be clocking it. The Earthwatts is a good psu, you just need a more powerful one. Just like the case and psu suggested above.

Ridiculous, it'll be fine.

In that case, why do people on here spec Corsair HX 520w psu's for similar spec rigs? There are threads on here all the time about peoples rigs crashing when gaming and nine times out of ten it's down to the psu. Any future upgrade will also require a new psu so he might as well get a decent size one now.

Just because the companies release bigger and bigger PSUs doesn't mean anyone actually needs them.:)

I built a system recently using a non-Earthwatts 380W unit, and it worked admirably with a heavily overclocked E2160 and 8800GTS. And my Antec 300W was fine with an overclocked Opteron and X850XT.

The Corsairs are better, no doubt, but when you're on a budget then you're not necessarily bothered about a tiny bit more noise or not having modular cables. He's only got 1 hard drive, he's not using SLI and not using watercooling.
