There is a possiblity that Sony will miss the March Eurpean deadline they set. I'm not saying they will. There is also the possibility that they will actually keep their word and release the console in march.

However. For the sake of this question. Lets assume that the PS3 is misses March.

At what point will you say "Enough is enough, I'm not going to buy a PS3 at launch".?
Is March, April, August, November? Will you get one regardless of launch date?

This BTW is not a console willy wagging thread, there are others for that debate. I am also assuming Sony will continue to restrict importing.

I wont be buying one on launch anyway so a delay is no problem to me... I'll get a PS3 when the likes of MGS4 & GT5 hit the shelves

Not buying one at the prices they're asking. They can delay it until 2009 for all I care. I'm not seeing any game coming out on the PS3 that I tickles my fancy enough to spend 500+. All the good games are being released on the 360 and that'll do me for now.

Supposing the release is delayed, which there is no evidence for but for the sake of argument. If someone wants a PS3, why would they refrain from buying one because it was a bit delayed?

I will buy one as soon as the top console becomes £300 with a game.

As soon as that happens I am there with cash in hand, before that day a games console just is not worth the money, no titles out on the console for two years that I want that would justify the console anyway so I can wait and pick one up when the next Xbox is hovering on the horizon.

And that is a valid answer. If you want a PS3 no matter what, then you will wait. But lets say a Sony Manufacturing Plant blows up and they cant make any more PS3s till Sept 2008. Will you still be willing to wait?

(this is all hypothetical so don't go telling me that they can build a new manufacturing plant in 3 months and be back up to fullscale prodution after 4 months)

Unless your dead set on it with every passing week the competition gets stronger (more games, lower prices) so I think people are bound to get swayed. The fact Europe is clearly considered the dregs by Sony won't help either.

Not trying to stir anything here, but is it just Sony? Sega used to release tons of games in USA and Japan only... Nintendo release games sometimes months in advance.

It's not a little delay is it? It's a huge delay. I think anyone that has £425 to spend and has a brain in their skull would be better off buying a 360 and a Wii.

No it's not just Sony, I think everyone barr MS is guilty of shafting Europe.

You could argue that MS are being the fairest, sure we have to wait for Blue Dragon and Lost Planet for a month or so, but Japan has to wait for a month to get most US/UK based games.

I wonder if thats why the console is failing there, because they dont like to wait ;)

Nintendo seem to be getting better at their European releases. I think they realised that they lost a lot of sales on the Gamecube/Game Boy Advance due to PAL conversions taking 6-12 months. I remember getting Advance Wars 2 in Canada about 7 months before it's UK release. I'd completed it by the time it came out over here. :)

As much as I want to boycott Sony I'll probably end up buying one. Not on release though..... way too expensive!!

Similar for me with Resident Evil 4. Completed way before it came out over here.

I will most likely buy a PS3 but not before it drops below £300.

I'm prepared to wait atleast another 2 years for the latest technology. I'm gonna trade in both my 360's and the DS Lite just to buy the control pad.

Too late, too expensive IMO.
Sony are more interested in ramming Blueray out there as that is what will make them money. I just dont get the impression that they are community minded as MS and Nintendo are at the moment.
