How long could you go without your PC?

Damn, I would probably be fine for a few weeks, like when im on holidays I don't really care, and don't miss it that much.

However at home idk. I suppose a while, as I could do school works, biking, etc.

It'd seem that it's pretty firmly integrated into my life, the amount it gets used and all. However, I think it's just convenient, and that really it depends what else there is to do. For instance, when I'm on holiday I don't exactly miss it!

I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 as a back-up PC, P4 2400MHz, 1.5GB RAM, Geforce 6100, so I could stick with that for many weeks, even months if my desktop PC was to go. If with no computers at all though, only for a week, then I would probably have to borrow a friend's 2nd PC.

However, my phone is the Galaxy SII under 750mb/month contract and that is great for web browsing.

The longest would be 2 weeks but I was forced into 3 weeks because of the Icelandic volcano and got stuck in Luxor.
Didn't miss it one bit.

To all the above referring to "PC's" exclusively as the desktop variant.

A personal computer (PC) is any general-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and original sales price make it useful for individuals, and which is intended to be operated directly by an end-user with no intervening computer operator.

The term PC envelopes laptops and desktops alike. Including apple machines.

I was referring to pc in the true sense. Your main computer. the one you power up when you get home or spend your day off mooching around on.

Being away from the net has obvious implications, but I was mainly curious to see how much people have linked to one particular machine. What with all this mobile computing I was interested in seeing just how mobile our digital lives are. Despite having a netbook and smartphone at my disposal, I still can't game, access any of my music or photos, edit any of my new photos, stream any of my film collection, or comfortably spend over an hour online.

I may invest in some web storage in future so I can back up all my files and disk images for access from any sort of computer.

My main desktop, a few weeks I guess. Then I would want to play a game, if it was my laptop, ipad, iphone as well.... AHH!!

Yeah, I hate it when people ask "is it a PC or a laptop?" I know it's common sense and all that, but my old IT manager used to ask that very phrase to our clients / suppliers and I thought it was unprofessional that IT professionals were spreading bad IT vocabulary. And now you see "PCs" or "laptops" on lots of computing web sites.

At the moment, I just generally use my netbook for the internet, so how long could I go without my PC? Probably a while, as I often leave it at home these days, if I have staying round a friends for a girly night. I don't check my phone either. I can live without internet and my phone for more than one night :D
