Im probably tempting fate by asking this, because in the year and a bit i've been able to drive a car i've been driving I havnt had a single car to car accident.. and I was wondering what about everyone else here..

So do tell :)

I'll let you know when I have one....5.5 years so far without a bump despite a few close moments.

drove over 5 years now without a single accident, also done 1 year on a bike, averaging 20k-30k per year in the car, far less on the bike though. Had a couple of very close calls though.

About a year if you count hitting the kerb on the outside of a roundabout. If not then nothing so far... *touch wood*

Well I have had five quite serious crashes and no not because I am a bad driver but because I use to drive up to 60,000 miles a year and most of the crashes were other people fault, for two of then I was stationary and hit head on by the other cars.

First serious one was within nine months of passing my test when I turned a blind bend to find myself facing a van coming towards me on the wrong side of the road, I managed to avoid the van but ended up upside down in a ditch after bouncing off a tree and rolling the car.

7 years in October and fine so far.

(Prob gonna have a crash when I drive into Bath later now :( )

Thorne mate, you really don't have much luck in cars do you? :p

I've never had a car-to-car incident, only a stupidity accident 6 months after passing, as is in the thread about worst accidents.

Had a few near misses in my first year of driving. Typical 17 year old thinks he can drive fast but can't syndrome. Fortunately (very) none of them turned into full-on accidents.

Someone rear-ended me but there wasn't much I could do about that :p.

Nothing since then. Safe driving IMO is all about awareness, anticipation and intuition, something you don't have when you pass your test and which has to be learnt through experience. For some unlucky people that experience involves a smash.

Been Driving nearly 8 years and only had one accident. It was about 1 year after passing my test. Totally not my fault though. Some guy pulled out of a T junction from behind a van so there is no way in this world he could have seen me coming. Anyway i ploughed into his drivers door.

Thats all. Had a few close calls. One that sticks in my mind was a few month back. i was just driving along as normal and all of a sudden i had to jam the brakes on to avoid running into a taxi in front. It was a 50 MPH road. It was a bit of a brown trouser moment. I was thinking 'thats strange' why did i nearly run into that Taxi in front. Anyway, i kept my distance a little and relised he bloody brake lights werent working

I reported him to the Taxi company anyway and got an appoligy.

It goes to show how much we rely on brake lights without realising.

first car on car impact was this June just past - my car need to look more like a Volvo apparently. Still under repairs.

Only other thing I have done is hit a patch of ice (black or not I don't care & is not up for debate) and gone nsf into a frozen grassy bank. The guy in the Gas van in front did the same :p

was interesting getting out. Also rather scary when the steering wheel started sticking & become stiff to turn. Bent steering rack was less than fun :(

A lot of it is down to demanding jobs having to travel all over the UK and Europe, the stats report that driving more the 21,000 miles a year is considered to be the third most dangerous thing to do and I was doing 60,000 and just damn unlucky

12 years, not a major one either though my bumper didn't like it :(
