How long do you keep Boxes and Packaging?

Most things, I keep the boxes while it’s warranty. It’s rare things need to go back but if they do, it makes it so easy to do so.

PC stuff, typically all the component boxes get stored in the case box in the loft as likely to sell them on in the future. I don’t think the boxes really add value but, a bit like warranty, it makes posting them easy. Plus I find it a way to store spares like modular psu cables, unused cooler mounts etc.

General life ... I even make sure to throw out the warranty cards

Warranty wise I mostly am lazy with registering or just buy another item if it breaks. Given the amount of recycling we seem to generate I no longer care to keep on stacking boxes in my townhouse.

The only thing I keep are big component boxes like motherboard, cpu, gpu etc along with receipts. I just cannot be bothered for most other things like mice keyboard boxes.

Pretty much anything I think I might sell in future that costs more than ~£50 (pc parts, electronic items) though I'd draw the line at anything larger than laptop/console sized box.

I keep almost everything if it has resale value.
People love a box.

Lego, computer parts, etc.
Or I keep it if it's a good 'send in the mail' box for ebay selling.

If it's something I'm going to use until it breaks (like a hedge trimmer) straight in the recycling once I know I'm keeping it

You never know, it may be worth something in the future. Just look at how much old tins, packaging and signs are worth right now.
You think a 25 year old cardboard box might be worth something? Maybe, but I’d argue the space is more valuable.

Each to their own, though.

when I build a new PC I tend to put all the boxes in the case box and stick it in the loft.

New TV, polystyrene went in the loft, outer box in the garage as it had a 5 year guarantee.

misc computer purchases the boxes usually go in a cupboard or similar until I get nagged about clutter, then they go into the loft.
