How long does your PC take to boot up?

not trying to crash the thread but those guys under 30/40 seconds any chance u can post what u've done to get it so quick ?

cheers.

Well, from button pressing to on, its 43seconds, but after seeing bios its 22s.
Vista ultimate, spec in sig

My old Athlon64 used to take less than 30 seconds to boot to a useable desktop from pressing the power button. My Core2Duo takes 30 seconds before it even starts loading XP and almost two minutes before it's realistically useable.

I know which I prefer using though...

A couple of minutes for me (Opteron 165@stock). Gets to windows fine in under 30 seconds, then just grinds to a halt when its Avasts turn to load.

Ya Speedfan is longest ever to load and hogs 100% CPu until its up and running.

I didn't know this. I am beginning to go off Speedfan. I'm working off site, so will tweak on the weekend. I would rather switch than resort to standby, and a 30 - 45 second boot would be acceptable. Anyone know of a good guide on-line for reducing start up times?

With quite a few programs installed (including Kaspersky and SQL) from power on to no HDD usage 2 mins 34 secs (damn laptop has a 5400rpm drive :()

iirc the bootup time is reported somewhere in ms word. not sure if its the time from when the button was pushed to when the last startup item finished loading.
