How loud is your PS3?

Well the Japanese one makes hardly any noise, when doing anything. Upscaling, Gaming, Bluray. All hush hush.

The 40gb one is quiet too, but no where near as quiet as the Jap one. Especially when upscaling as said already, But the console seems to quieten about 20 minutes after the DVD has started
 
60gig model, fan noise at times when folding at home, pretty quiet most of the time, can quite happily play at night with the tv on low and not disturb anyone, really pleased with it :)
 
I have a 40Gb version, the fan seems to have three speeds, whisper quiet for the first 10 mins of turning on the console, standard speed, audible but acceptable and seems to kick in even when left on the dash, then hairdryer which is a downright pain in the backside and requires a switch off/cool down period of about 10 mins due to it not slowing down automatically.
 
Well ive played with it some more after a week of it being off.
And while its NOT silent, its still quieter than anything else in my room. :p.

That said it's pretty quiet, it's just I like to try and keep my PC/MCE inaudible.
 
To further my observations: Its been on for the last 8-9hours, playing GTA, UT4, watching videos, ect; And about 3 hours ago it spun up from a quiet hum that sounded odd (as mentioned in the original post), to a slightly louder hum. Still not obtrusive.
