How loud is your Raptor?

I found the noise that my raptor makes is down to it causing the case to resonating. I suspended mine using sewing elastic and now i can't hear it as everything else in my case drowns it out. I can only hear it if i put my ear right next to it in the case.

Like so:

Very creative.
I was going to do something like that before I invested in a Scythe box, but I don't think it would have drowned out the noise I hate.
I took the drive out of the case, and rested it on some foam but I could still hear that grinding sound so it wasn't resonating as such in my case.

You can see looking at posts in this thread, that the annyoying noise is a personal thing.

Yep, it's only the resonating which will stop with the suspension method. A lot of people complain about noisey hard drives without realising that it's because the case is resonating that it's so noisey. I would only have bought an enclosure if i was in the same position as you where it's the actual hard drive noises that causes the problems.

BTW Tob3z i have also suspended a hard drive in my 3.5" bays as i also ran out of room in the 5.25" bays as i already have two hard drives in there. I can get some pics up for you if you want?

Here's what I done- used a couple of strips of rubber either side of the HD. Old bike inner tubes. Clicking noise is considerbly quieter, and the case itself doesn't hum anymore, you could feel a bit of vibration on the case.

Sure that would be great. Might as well try to make them as silent as possible.
