How many days off work do you get a year?

I have 27 plus bank holidays so 35. Sometimes we have 2 concession days given over Christmas and New Year making 37.

We can also carry over 10 days leave maximum. When I came back off paternity leave I had 42 days to take off in 9months... It was awesome as you can imagine.

I teach in private company... I need to escape and work for my mate who offers way better terms and pay too! He just needs job openings from his boss.

29 + BH

Public sector. Starts at 25 and increases to max of 30 based on combination of pay grade and length of service.

32 + BH + some "free" days over Xmas shutdown (FE college)

I'm also FE College. Looks like you get a slightly better deal than me as I get: 31 days + BH, but Xmas closures come out of the 31 days. I can carry 5 forward from the previous year though, so I could have 36 + BH.

Not looking forward to the erosion of this when I move to USA :p that and sick time coming out of the Paid Time Off :( (currently I get 6 months full, 6 months half, then SSP).

Working for the government has very few perks but one is annual leave and their flexi policy.

35 days (after 10 years) annual leave + bank holidays + 2.5 for the Queen's birthday & other random celebrations.

Our flexi agreement is that we can be no more than three days up and no more than one day down.

Please keep in GD.

So my employer has a new portal which shows our total benefits package including quantifying the monetary value of holiday.

I get 25 days holiday + bank holidays (8 this year) + 3 days off between Christmas and New Year which comes to 36. I'll also get another 5 days off as annual leave after 5 years' service.

How much does everyone else get off, is this above average?

I get similar, 28 days + BH and how ever many days it works out as between christmas and new years (although I am on call over that xmas period if the business needs me to log on from home).

25 standard, 9 for Christmas/Easter/Public holidays (1 more than UK mainland) and that's it unless given 1/2 day on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve but not contracted.
