x2 gigabyte windforce 670's in sli. Then x2 windforce 780's in sli. Now on a single gtx 980ti. I do prefer nvidia cards because they just work out of the box. No fiddling with drivers etc. Im a simple guy.:)

2 but just barely.

7970 lightning lasted 3 years. Was still doing just fine but decided to spend the remaining bitcoins collected by the 7970 before I lose them trying to get rich :P. Fury pro now.
Great free upgrade.

Never had a RMA in over 18 years of buying cards, but then some people here have had more cards in two years then I have bought over the last 18 years!

I'll bite,

How do you guys feel about the money that's cost you? This is particularly interesting when considering that some of these "upgrades" aren't really much of an upgrade.

Think I might be going back a bit more than 2 years, more like 4, but these are the ones I remember recently.

6950 flashed to 6970 - Sold - 1080p
7950 - Given to GF - 1080p
280X RMA'd - 1440p
770 RMA'd - 1440p
2 x 280X - Sold both - 1440p
290 - Still using - 1440p
2 x 290 - Still using - 4K

1x680 ( might not be within the 2 year window)
2x 780s
3x 970s

And am planning to buy the next nvidia cards x2 of the fastest single gpu version there is.

A lot poorer :D

2012: New Sapphire Dual-X HD 7850 2GB
2013: Used MSI Twin Frozr III HD 7850 2GB (For Crossfire)
2014: Used Sapphire R9 290 (should have gotten a new Tri-X)

I would have kept the crossfire setup but @1440p I was hitting a VRAM wall with only 2GB and it always comes with it's issues, R9 290 just as fast without the issues of crossfire not scaling properly.
