How many hours a week do you work?

I'm contracted 37.5 hours a week. Depending on the project I'm on, this can range from actually working 0 hours, up to 50 hours a week.

Oddly, the project I'm on now, people seem to work past 5, upto 5:30 or even 6 and get in at 8:30. They seem to think this shows them in a good light.

I think it's poor time management. If I'm in at 8:30, I'm gone by 4:30 and rarely take an hours lunch. You don't get overtime or flexi time in my job so why am I going to stay late to look good?

For those that work more than their contracted hours, do you get overtime or TOIL?

I don't.

:(

No ovetime here, just salaried. The workshop manager gets the hardest deal. Contracted to work the maximum 48 hours and last week he worked 76.5 hours!

37 hours a week contracted.

However at the moment we tend to come and go as we please as long as work is done on time. My company is quite flexible really :)

That all said there have been times when I have worked up to 78 hours a week, but ofc I get paid for the overtime so :p

37.5 on the dot. I am not paid enough to do more. if something is needed I will work longer, but they better be ready to pay me for it. I am not a charity

Too many, and don't receive OT or TOIL. Not for much longer though, I'm sick of being flogged like a dead horse. 3 years of this and it hasn't got me anywhere, time for a change of plan!

I used to work 35 but that was well over a year ago, but now I'm out of the rat race running my own companies so it's dropped to 10-15 hours a week, some weeks even less and I never work weekends.

supposed to be the regular 37.5 hrs. don't stop for a lunch break but often home before 17:30, but just finish when the last job is done .

when 'on shift'- 08:00 to 22:00 mon-sun (98hrs) then straight into a regular 5 day week (12 days straight).

never would end up working 98 hours in a week but occasionally end up working until 1, 2, 3am, or sometimes finish at lunchtime. swings and roundabouts :) but hard to do what you want until 22:00 when the shift finishes.

On a gap year on an 8 hour countract working about 30 a week at the moment, 49 last week, mind.

Around 45.

Out of choice, employed to do 37.5, but am starting out on a good career so am trying to learn as much as possible early on.
