I think I only get about 200 miles from a tank on my CBR125. I'm quite happy with that though but maybe I'll change the filter and plug to see if that improves it at all.
Yeah probably get around 45mpg if I'm on the motorway, not riding sensibly. If I'm out thrashing it, more like 35. Should be much improved on the BMW I hope lol.
Given bikes are so much lighter than cars, and therefore need so much less energy to accelerate them, not to mention less resistance from road and air - I'm always surprised how low the mpg are. If a 1000kg car with a 70bhp engine can return say 60mpg, why can't a 70bhp 150kg bike with less rolling resistance and drag do way better?
Thats bordering 1.6/1.8 car engine size for output.. what happens as soon as you strap a bigger exhaust, throttle bodies and a remap onto one of those? Add in a 17k rev range and you start to see where it goes.
