How many of you have the will power to do this?

I took my dog out for a walk round the park yesterday. As I was walking off the park I thought I would call the wife to tell her I was popping into the pet shop for some treats for the dog on my way back. I reached for my phone from my coats inside pocket. My heart rate must have gone through the roof. My stress level reached maximum, Panicked like hell. It has everything on there, contactless payments, personal details, you name it, like all of us, we have our lives on a phone these days. I pretty much jogged back home, dog loved it. Got home and there it was. On the bottom step of the stairs. Clearly forgot to pick it up.

Dog didn't get any treats yesterday.

I think i'm in the minority. Regularly leave my phone at home if i'm going out to the shops, or for a walk with my 3 year old. When I do have it on me, it's on silent and the only 'loud' notifications I allow are calls of certain people. Messages, emails, whatsapps, social media notifications never see my screen unless I go into the app and check for them.

What about going for a walk without your mobile? Would you not do that either? what if your friend/other half was there with you, though also without their mobile?

it's liberating to go without a mobile, so nice to not have something in your pocket, and no way anyone can contact you.

now if you'd say yes to the above, what's the difference between a walk and a drive in terms of "i may see someone dying in front of me and need to call an ambulance"? and also, how many times have you driven/walked and actually needed your phone due to an emergency.

I think I’ve forgotten my phone once in 21 years, I hated every second of it. Worried about family, if something happened to me et .

I'm a little confused to what side this post was heading :p To me this says 'yes, you should take your phone'?!

I sometimes get nervous if I take the bins out and leave my phone inside

When you realize you're a slave to your phone you can put it away. My phone only leaves my house if I'm going somewhere unusual, I look at it twice a day.

could be better than the Boris show -

we'll see if Gen Z's addiction to the Tik-Tok algorithm/mobile reduce if it's banned.
Shou Chew, the chief executive of TikTok, will testify before Congress for the first time on Thursday, in an appearance that is expected to reflect U.S. lawmakers’ escalating distrust of the short-form video app’s Chinese ownership.

The hearing, which will begin at 10 a.m. before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, will give lawmakers a rare opportunity to ask Mr. Chew questions directly about TikTok’s relationship with its Chinese owner, ByteDance, as well as about the app’s handling of sensitive U.S. user data and the risks it may pose to teens and children.
