How many of you use calibrated monitors?

And who would have ownership in the end.

There's that as well, maybe one person puts in a few more ££ than the rest and when everyone on "the list" is done with it it is returned to that person until needed again.

Just a thought...

Myself and 4 work collegues all chipped in and brought a Spyder a couple of years ago. We all use it when we feel the need and it works well that way. Im not sure I would buy one outright myself as it can be a lot of money for little gain. But then again they have come down quite a bit now!

I'd be up for buying one between us, would only need to use it every now and then really, depends how many of us chip in and who really, I dont mind giving people phone number and address etc for security :)
I was gonna get one from USA as you can get a Huey for £45 or Huey Pro for £70, so if anyone knows this is the cheapest price I don't mind buying one, paying half and then people just chip in a couple of quid to use it ? :) That way it only costs me £35 tops and some people a couple of quid?

The other option is the last person sells it on the bay at the end and splits the money back round. Or gives it to charity. :)

Blast from the past, sorry to dig up this thread. I'm just wondering if anything ever happened with getting one of these? I would like to give one a go before buying one really. I don't know anyone who has one. If there is one floating around....?

I fail to see the point, what are you going to calibrate it too. Photobox wont print exactly the same as my photo printer, and i can easily calibrate to either of those by getting/making a print and comparing it, then save the calibration.

What is a spider going to do if its perfect setting doesnt match photobox printing

I use a huey and am pleased with the results but it did take a while to adjust as I'd got used to the bolder less natural colours. I'd also add that the huey asks to be recalibrated every week (doesn't force it) and it can adjust for ambient light, obviously both of these require you to have the unit plugged in permanently.
