How many of you will be missing work due to the weather conditions?

Working from home today, I travelled back home last night as there was no way in hell I'm getting stuck at my rented house that has poor insulation and heating.

My car had no chance today, so I grabbed a lift from someone, and will have to walk home. A 4-mile journey but should be fine as long as it's not too dark. Most of the people have made it into this office, but a lot are worried about getting home tonight. Still snowing lightly here (Portsmouth), but nothing like it was first thing this morning.

Seen a lot of peoples places of work closing down today.

I wish ours would do that but we'd lose hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of revenue every day :(

I am working alone and late because people living in the same place as me said they couldn't get to work in their cars.

Funny, I manage fine on my motorcycle.

Caught the bus at 7.30 and after about an hour or so (after First Bristol had tweeted all services were suspended) & about 20 minutes down the road it can't get up a hill and the driver chucked everyone off the bus :p

Walked home and WFH so all good :)

Left work at 13:30, motorway was completely fine, the dual carriageways were down to 20 mph and my road was completely white. Had trouble reversing onto my drive as the car kept wheel spinning.

My entire office except the owner and myself have all left in the last 30 minutes. I cannot go home early as I have to go to a customer site in 10 minutes :(

I'm hoping the roads will be a bit less hellish on the way home, otherwise I may have to abandon the car there over the weekend.

I'm in luck, the roads had been cleared a bit by the time I finished work. Still a bit treacherous, but at least there wasn't any question of "Am I going to make it up this hill / survive going down this hill". Had a bit of trouble backing up into my own drive, but a few minutes with a snow shovel cleared the way.

The office was pretty empty today. A lot of my colleagues live in Wales, and I hear they're getting the worst of it.

Working at home today! Probably could have made it driving to southampton today but an alternative was provided! Also no chance of getting stuck in traffic at 5pm!

I have to be in Birmingham by 10, I'm travelling from Lincoln, Im going leave at 0630, sat nav says it should taken an hour and Forty five to get there, I'm thinking 3 and half hours accounting for the general public bobbing their kecks at the first sight of a snow flake is sufficient.

Got there in 2 hours flat.

4 sodding hours to get back though because the UK public cant ******* drive.

Needless to say, I didnt need snow tyres, put I would have found a snow shovel useful for stoving some of skulls in of the chumps I've seen on the road today.

Just left work now but not sure how I'll get home as it seems our rail networks are incapable of operating with the light dusting of snow
