Work in 3rd line, generally nudging 1st/2nd line into finding out the answers that they should be doing themselves, so eventually they can post a thread in GD about how they're doing my job.

:P

Hmm. I don't work for anyone. I only work for myself so I guess that's a no.

I do some freelance software development, 3D Design and web design. Even then, everything I do is free, I very rarely charge anyone for doing stuff as it's only a hobby really and not a career.

I do enjoy working with and in IT.

System Admin, DBA, 1st, 2nd & 3rd line support + hardware & software procurement.

Work for an engineering project management company supporting oil & gas projects, lots of travel to remote sites.

A typical day:-
Me: "Did you test this before releasing it?"
Dev: "Of course we did, it passed all our checks"
Me: "Hmmmm, *click*"
*Boom*
Dev: "I suppose you are going to raise another defect for that!"
Me: "Yep, and another for your documentation not being accurate"
Dev: :mad::mad:

Currently saving projects from the garbage that developers churn out :p Fear the tester that can delve into your code and expose dodgy coding!

IT is not something I ever would want to do to earn a living, simply because the joy I get from it as a hobby (which it is to me now) would disappear...and also the profession that I am in pays far better!

What? You sit at home playing with enterprise kit as a hobby? :p

And the skys the limit from a salary point of view :) unless of course your a banker :(

I work in IT and I love it... playing with bleeding edge kit all day and getting paid for it, what's not to like?

You also get to go to trade shows and exhibitions during work time and return with freebies.

And by freebies I mean hundreds of USB sticks pens, mouse mats, sweets and whatever else you can grab walking around the stalls :p

Internal system development for a ticketing agency, plus the occassional bit of support. Not the worst IT job in the world I guess and hopefully will lead to other oppotunities in the future.
