How many people use their console online?

No, I activated the gold membership 1 month trial, tested it in GTAIV to make sure it worked, then never touched it again until it lapsed.

I play online, just on my PC.

I dont anymore.

Car Games: first corner some idiot knocks you out the race, game over, pointless.

FPS: feels like 90% of the games are hacked or / and cheats, pointless.

Golf: minute someone loses they quit, pointless.

so we have idiots, hackers and cheats.

kiss my a$$ microsoft and your £40 fee of doom.

When Xbox Live was first released I sold my Sony Console so I could get it. I have been a Gold member of Live since then and have also never played a single minute of a single player game on Console either. Without Live my I consider my console a useless brick taking up space under my television.

More extreme than most but its just how I see it.

I was just wondering roughly what proportion of people use their console online? Specifically how many XBox owners use Xbox live vs the number of PS3 users who go online with the PS3.

It just dawned on me that I've never played a console online before, mainly because I have an Xbox360 and I don't want to pay for Xbox live. I feel like I'm missing out :(. I'm considering maybe selling my Xbox and jumping ship to PS3 but just wanted to know who think Consoles give a good online experience?

I have both 360 and ps3 and xbox live is a much better service. Consoles online have improved massively this gen but still i think pc edges it still

Well now I feel stupid, lol.
The problem has always been £8 a month for Xbox live + £30 for the wireless router because I don't want to drag a network cable through my house. That's why the PS3 is so alluring, no extra fees and built in wireless.

I remember the first time I was aware consoles could go online, Phantasy Star online for the Gamecube I think it was. Seemed like a wierd and exciting world back then.

Wrong dreamcast was the 1st console online out the box.

Used to play xbox live all the time, not so much recently as most of the games bore me now.I have seen the light and I'm now officially a PC gamer!:D

I had a 360 and bought a 12 month online pass, but barely used. I've now got a PS3 and still barely play online as I'd much rather play the single player mode.

always sign into xbl but most console games I play single player, fps I play on pc same with racing games.

Only put xbox on to play TW12 Masters atm. PS3 never gets switched on... waste really but not selling it for the pittance they fetch :)

Always connected, rarely play online games though, console gaming is nowhere near as competitive as it was on the original Xbox. (Ghost Recon 1 / Island Thunder, Rainbow Six 3 / Black Arrow clans - before them games went down the ****er)

Got to be honest, but as soon as I saw the title I thought to myself - 'who doesnt have it online?'. Pretty much the defining feature of this console generation - there are plenty of AAA games that focus solely on online...

ps3ud0

tbf (and I accept I may be in a tiny minority in this company) but my PS3 is only online for firmware /software upgrades and patches - never actually play online at all :)
