How many songs do you have?

bout 4800. only got a 30Gb ipod, so everytime that's full, it's time to do some shuffling
 
Suprisingly less than I thought, I have 3000 on iTunes but that can't be with most of my CDs and vinyl on it, should be a lot more. So my willy for waving can get much bigger! :)
 
Around 19,000 songs (about 115 odd gig I think) + some random CDs I have lying about. And yes, it's all music I like.

Edit: I don't understand how people can survive on sub 1000 songs!?

Quite easily. I've got around 17000 tracks at a guesstimate, of which I only listen to a few thousand on a regular basis.

Lets say that on average a good album has only 6 songs I really like. That means I could have over 100 stripped-down albums that I really like, and a few hundred of my favourite singles, and still be under the 1000 song mark.

I'm one of those heathen that views albums as nothing more than a collection of songs, you see, and I break all the rules by picking and choosing which tracks I listen to. I like Parabola by Tool, but not Parabol. I even edit some songs so it's just the bit I like left (typically an outro e.g. Fade to Black by Metallica, Insonmia by Faithless, The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin).

And if I download something and dont like it, then its straight into the bin with it! Why keep thousands of songs that you dont listen too?

You can't throw away half a cd :)

I've also got music that I very rarely listen to, but that doesn't mean I don't like it. For example, I haven't listened to "God of Wine" by Third Eye Blind for, I dunno, probably at least 2 years. But it's a fantastic track, so right after I click submit reply, I'm going to stick it on.

Sometimes I just lose / forget about some of the records I've got, and it's nice to stumble across them from time to time :)
 
I have 6748 tracks on my itunes. I do listen to most, but i dont tend to get rid of songs unless they are awful!!
Cyborg, i have like every artists you have on that small selection screen dump!

So there it is. 583 albums and 40gb i personally am running out of cd's to buy. i cant belive that people honestly listen to more than 600 albums. i really cant.

Got 500 songs in my favorite list. Theres a hell of a lot more I like, just havent got round to rating most of it..

108 songs I don't want to play ever..
That leaves over 9k songs that need rating...

I like having the full albumn on the computer thats why theres some songs I don't like.
