How many things are wrong with a punto?

I'm driving a 1998 Puntio 60 S 1.2

Its a bit spartan, before the days when Aircon was included without being a n extra. It doesnt have PAS though which is a bit silly. Only had one real issue with it - the fuel injection system leaked under the rear seats and no joke you could hear it swishing around when you turned

My mum drove it like that not realising for 1 month :/

Otherwise great little runner, though the paint has faded. Won't rust though as it was during the rust era, so they just used to galvinise the entire body.

Very nice car the punto, look around get a clean body low mileage one.

They hold the road great, there cheap to insure and run, plus cheap tax class.

432 things.

I thought that there were more components in a Punto than that.........but then maybe I was counting the broken ones twice :)
To the OP, get her to test drive one without power steering that should put her off

Its actually such a light car you dont notice :p

When parking its a little heavuier, but general driving it actually feels lighter than any other car I've driven.

And its a Punto, possibly the worst car made by them, aside from the little match box on wheels, sciento or something.
Oi! :p . I've had my cinq bout year and a half now and apart from replacing the rear wheel bearings and a blown brake light that’s all that’s gone wrong. -Goes away to find some wood to touch-

My mate used to have a Punto. When you pulled the door handles you had to push them back into place. If you didn't the doors would fly open when you went round corners.

My Gran also has one which is fine except it's got an electrical fault that randomly causes it to drain it's battery. But it's only done 20,000 miles in about 6 year.

Have a mate that has a MK2, they do scuff easily. The shocks are poor and he also complains about how much bodyroll it has.

The only useful thing city mode is for is parking up.

my mate has the 1.9 HGT, great little car imo, will be even better when he gets it remapped :D 130bhp, 220lb/ft from a small car = fun

I've had the mis-fortune of having 2 punto's as courtesy cars. You feel so uninvolved with driving the thing it's scary. The brakes are useless, going from my clio to the punto was frightening as the brakes on my clio are just awsome. There's no feedback in the steering, the interior is spare, and it feels like its made of tin.

The doors shut with a good clunk though.

I have to admit the brakes on cinq aren’t brilliant and the Punto uses the same diameter discs and is 200kgs heavier. When you need to stop in a hurry in a Punto I reckon you gotta put your hands together and prey he he.
