How many weeks of food do you have stored?

That’s how they get you to spend more and eat more.
Its how they get greedy people to eat more.
Taking advantage of bulk buy isn't the same thing at all.

I say it's stupid to buy rice in 250g bags for £2 when you can buy 20kg for £30.
Same goes for loads, we get toilet roll 6 months worth at a time, thats the minimum amount at Costco.
Chicken 10kg at a time not silly little single portion packs.

I agree, buying in bulk doesn't make you stuff more into your face but it does save money and packaging waste in some cases.
 
We have a chest freezer that we keep stuff for "lazy" cooking days, or when we bulk cook items. Then of course, frozen veg, ice cream and other things like that. We probably have enough for at least a week's worth of food if not a little more - but it's not used for anything other than temporary storage (i.e. food that we will eat within 1-2 months of purchase).
