A good London Black Cab driver can make decent money - tbh he needs a bloody medal to put up with London traffic all week! - I'm thinking more of the Stoke on Trent mini cab mob......

Dont forget traffic jams are good for black cab drivers, or if not good then not bad either, the meter is still ticking unlike mini cab Jo.

Indeed what r420 says breakdowns wipe you out I'm 2 grand down this month between repairs and maintenance 650 quid in a clutch and 300 for a new inlet due to swirl pot linkage failure along with Tyres at £400 a set and some other bits and pieces bear in mind I do my own maintenance and repairs if I was paying a garage you could add another grand if so in labour

A mate of mine does the taxis and he does anywhere between 500-1000 a week depending on the hours he puts in.

That is with a Hack plate.

Whilst I'd like to be an owner driver one day, I'd hate to fund the R&M costs for a Scania R420 + Trailer!!!

Depends on lots of things with data heads being a very big thing with them jobs can be bidded for so if your a driver who can be arsed to look for work and travel for it rather than a driver who sits in one spot waiting for work then your going to be making more.
