How much of an ungrateful barsteward should I be?

Hehe not one whitter from any conspiracy theorists that WJA96 actually works for BFG and this thread is in fact viral marketing to bOOst BFG sales lol! :p

Jolly good idea I must admit, I can see sales of BFG cards going through the roof now from people wanting to experience this uBer RMA service!

Well, Big.Wayne, if they like that they'll love this;

I apologize for the delay. I spoke to the UK warehouse and they will upgrade your other 8800 card.

I'm genuinely speechless. And BFG are not even that much more expensive new than ordinary brands. I can't see why anyone would buy anything else? I have had 18 months hard use from a pair of 8800GTX's and now I will have two heavily overclocked GTX280's in their place, and still another 8.5 years of warranty to go - lets hope they don't supercede the PCIe interface for a while yet:D

Wow. Really, wow. I mean I've heard about them upgrading cards to significantly higher models (6800 GT -> 9800 GT, 6600 GT -> 9600 GT, etc.) before, but then to also upgrade the second, working card so that you can use them in combination is nothing short of excellent service.

If you are a BFG viral advertising guy you've certainly done your job here! :p

Well good on ya mate, it couldn't have happened to a nicer more helpful person! :)

Hopefully now you can *fix* your broken super-computer-cuda-cruncher thingie and have some enjoyment!

I must say you were in danger of having an Elton John moment for a while there . . . . apparently he had a total freak-out when he found out the floral wallpaper on his private jet wasn't the exact shade he had chosen! . . . it was a moment when he realised he maybe had lost his fundemental perspective on things! :p

You and your guerilla consumer rights posse, the manufacturers must fear you mate! :D

here is an idea, keep both of the cards, buy another 8800 H2O or whatever it is, sli it so that rig is all back to normal and fine and what ever. now what to do with that spare 280? build another totally new rig, now you ahve 8? rigs which is a much nicer number than 7 and takes you a little close to that lovely number 10 :D

upon reading those last few posts made before i posted mine all i ahve to say is lucky git!

BFG Rock.. you are one lucky SOB, but on the flip side I was hoping to stay ahead so I was hoping your rig stayed crippled for a while longer :p

there have been a couple of people that have offered a swap of their 8800GTX BFG HC02 for your GTX280. If that is what you want, why don't you do it? You could also sell both cards and get two 260-216 with the money and you probably wouldn't even need to spend a penny.

I don't understand?

If anyone posted offering 2 x watercooled BFG 8800GTX H2OC for 1 GTX280 H2OC, then I missed it, as I may well have taken them up on it.

I will now have 3 x BFG GTX280 H2OC in SLi as I bought a third one from a competitor, so why would I want to swap?

So let me get this straight, you had a 8800GTX go faulty, sent it back to BFG and they send you a 280 GTX as a replacement, but then you tell them you can no longer run your SLI and they say oh sorry MR WJA have another GTX 280 so you can SLI them!

Lucky *******!

I'm jealous now, nice one mate.

I do have 5 other GTX280's and a GTX295 registered with them, so they know I'm a good customer. Even so, I am genuinely gobsmacked how well I have been treated by BFG. It really does set a stromg standard for anyone else to match.
