A modular psu has detachable cables.

Thanks for your advice, i have now made my purchases and spent more than I should have. Went with the Corsair 950 tx. Also got sad an another 480 ( don't tell the wife). I am having problems installing win7 on ssd, it keeps freezing when I try and install the drivers from the motherboard disc. Any ideas? It didn't happen when I installed on the mechanical ard drive

Certain things now like some of the top games run a lot better with 4+ but this is one way to waste a lot of money on over powered components.

I got 6Gb as my motherboards use triple channel. Sometimes I use over 4Gb if I have a lot open.
