How Much Warning Before Nvidia Release

Intel found out the hard way? What are you on about? Intel reaped the reward of being the only player in the market place and releasing "non upgrade" upgrades for years. Their profits soared and their share price doubled! in the time AMD were sleeping. How is that finding out the hard way? Sure we all hated it. But they were loving every minute of it.

Yea and AMD just caught them out with there pants down. Intels 10nm process is looking to be in a bad way and AMD will be on 7nm before them. Intel took it to easy for to long and will pay for it. I thought that would be easy to understand but obviously not.

Harsh People, Harsh - seriously though there are some pretty deep cuts across the board on Nvidia in this Red Friday sale. It certainly hints at something, but we have had a LOT of hints over the last 6 months... so we know nothing for sure.

D2 that no one's playing and ~10% off is garbage this late in Pascal's day imo, so is the free SSD offer NV are plugging, they don't want to reduce pricing so that the pp mindset is kept high, I remember when Kepler hit eol and you could get 670's for less than half price.

Yup it's embarrassing to be perfectly honest, especially when you even have gibbo saying things like:

no new product releases for a very long time

You really would have to be desperate or just stupid to be buying anything at this stage and especially at these lol prices.....

It is surprising how many people just don't remotely have their finger on the pulse though, and are completely and utterly ignorant as to what's going on, new cards coming etc. I think everyone on this forum is certainly not that way, but I do come across 'real world' people who are just clueless. And clearly, they ARE still being bought.

Jayz2cents thinks they will slot these above the current cards,so there won't be much price reductions on the older ones. AFAIK 12NM,is not a node shrink, but an optimised 16NM which allows for bigger chips to be made.

We really 7NM graphics cards methinks! :(

Seems clear they aren't going to drop prices on 10-series much... they'll just be doing bundle deals with SSDs etc. for a while. Far more cost effective for them to do this, and has same net result of clearing excess stock. It all doesn't exactly bode well for 11-series pricing, but I still don't expect that to be TOO bad... not for the initial FE cards anyway (if they stick with that naming). Third party ones will be the far more expensive option, as always.
