How OCD are you over the condition of "your stuff"

As per title! I for one am terrible and nearly always buy new. Even with things like DVDs or games where the cover for example has no bearing over the enjoyment of the show it still bothers me if the packaging is scuffed. My girlfriends the exact opposite and I wish I was more laid back like her. Anyone else bordering on OCD with their purchased items!? It strange as with me it only affects certain things, usually involving technology/media.

Completely depends on what it is. One thing I can't stand is defects on screen, even just a tiny scratch or 1 dead pixel.

Yeah I am. I always keep my stuff in good condition and it annoys me when I give/loan stuff to someone only to see it's trashed a few weeks later.

Case in point, I had a Minidisc player over 10 years ago that was a good bit of kit at the time. I had it a year and kept it in practically perfect condition, not a single scratch on it. I gave it to my girlfriend and within 2 weeks it had several paint chips on it, a big dent and the screen was scuffed. I know at that point it'd ceased being 'mine' but it still annoyed me.

I must say it isn't the damage that annoys me, it is that people damage my stuff and don't even tell me.

Around 5 years ago a friend spilt wine all over my stack of new PS3 games and DIDN'T tell me. What a ****. Someone else poked a hole in the seat in my Micra - Yes it was a Micra, but it was a pristine Micra that belonged to me.

I used to have mega OCD when i came to stuff i owned especially DVD games Model cars etc etc

But since having kids, ive had that habbit kicked out of me whether i like it or not

Let's say... an iPhone. When I first get it, I'll defend it with my life. However, as soon as it gets one little scratch or mark on it, I'll instantly give up keeping it safe.

My current iPhone lasted 2 weeks before I got a scratch on the screen. As soon as this happened, I stopped caring and probably had another 10 by the next week. :o

So yes, I am OCD until I fail.

Edit: I also didn't read the OP until now, but I am the same regardless.

i look after my stuff, but i accept that eventually everything will be subject to "wear and tear" e.g, my macbook pro, i have a sleeve for it, but no hard case/keyboard protector as i understand the bottom will inevitably get scuffed and that the keyboard is meant to be typed on normally.

I guess what im trying to say is, i look after my stuff, but i don't protect it to the degree that it limits/reduces an objects "usability".

I am for anything in my room really. I know when the slightest thing has been moved
Not really so much for my car as i am for my room

I got a box set once and the front cover was covered in air bubbles and so didn't match the other seasons of the show and I was and am still considering buying a replacement copy to match the other seasons.... It seems the alternate soloution is to have children! Lol.

No. Well mostly. My bookshelf is full of well worn books, after all they're for reading. However I have some rare books and comics and there kept in good condition.

I also fuss about the state and cleanliness of my iMac. The wife's finds it hilarious, she says I love it more than her. I thought the fastidiousness would fade after three years but nope.

I have other, far worse OCD problems, than the state of my 'stuff'

Having children easily removes the stuff OCD. Everything gets destroyed.

Used to be then i got older and no longer care.

Disposable world, I buy cheap and cheerful.

I can be like this on occasion. When something is brand new then I am OCD with it but once its older (say 2-3 months) or gets damaged I don't bother... It annoys me more if it is not me that damages it though.
