I saw this on The Facebook which made me smile -

For years I would put £25 in but if I went 1p over I would then take it up to £30 and yes I had to go to £35 if I missed again. Now some people obviously will fill to the litre.
I overcame my petrol OCD about 2 years ago when I stood no chance of ever hitting a multiple of £5 so I decided to play a game with the pump which was to get it to about £24.97 and then to close my eyes and see how close I get to a multiple of 5 and accept that price.

So how do you fill up?
Do you do it in exact litres or exact pounds?
Or are you a man it will gladly put £27.43 in?

I always aim for £20.00 or £25.00. if it goes over like 20.01 i just do a big sigh of disappointment

but when im over the border i just max it :D

I gave up years ago. My card bill is full of £20.02 etc spent on fuel, though I was very pleased to see the local Asda or Tesco (cannot remember which one), now has pumps which you can enter the monetary amount first and they stop automatically when you reach it. Genius!

I Brim it to the first click then take it to the nearest pound. If I miss the pound I take it to the nearest 50p. HOWEVER I think the petrol stations have caught on to me and have conspired to stop at £x.01 and £x.51 just to squeeze out another quid from me. As if they need it the greedy *****

I pay with a credit card, no need to be exact.

Fill to second click, remove wallet and lube, pay.

I used one of these once and it slowed right down around about €2 off the mark before slowly crawling up. Maybe it was just a bad example but I figured wasting an extra minute of my life at the pump wasn't worth it so haven't used the set point since.

Brim, then try for a round number for the price. But I don't get too hung up about it. But it is hard not leave it on a round number. In the OP case though, a rounded value trumps a rounded volume.

I always fill up on an odd amount. For example, I may put £50.23 in.

In doing this I know that if my bank details are stolen there's a good chance I'll spot the transaction on my online banking, as they'll have filled up with an exact amount (at least they seem to from what I've read).
