How often do you revisit games?

Are you the type that completes a game then moves on the newest release? Or do you play a lot of things again? Or a mix?

I rarely play new games, very rarely in fact. BF4 was the last game I bought, and before that, Skyrim. Love Skyrim (clocking upwards of 500 hours) but dropped BF4 after 10 hours. Too buggy. I must easily have 1500 hours between the ME trilogy and ME3MP. I'm working my way through ME3 again, and I will very likely start the trilogy again for probably the 10th time straight after :D

I (like everyone else probably) have serious game ADHD, therefore I start one, then get instantly bored and start another. Many of my Steam games have amounts like '7 minutes played' next to them :p

Oh and I can't stop buying games, so it becomes a never-ending problem

Funny how differently people play games. I've spent over £200 on ME games, DLC and and merchandise, but I don't care in the slightest as I've had so much enjoyment out of it. I need to complete my current Skyrim play through then I might try STALKER Lost Alpha as I used to love the STALKER games.

Only game I've completed lately and gone back to to new game + are borderlands and borderlands 2

Rarely ever, I know near enough right away whether it's worth my time, can't remember the last time I completed a singleplayer game. I prefer the randomness of multiplayer now, probably missing out on some good singleplayer stories but I'll get over it.

I like to finish a game before starting another, but New Game Syndrome and Real Life often change that for me.
I do revisit a few that were particularly good fun, though.

I've started being more disciplined with finishing games before starting another.

I've only gotten back in to gaming after 2 or 3 years in the wilderness (PC had been too old for gaming, Xbox360 was just not doing it for me, and very little gaming time - even now only 2-4 hours per week). At first, I was spamming loads of games picked up cheaply in Steam Sales, humble bundles, and the odd physical copy from some car boot sales. But it's not very satisfying doing that. I'm sticking with games until I've completed them, or until I'm genuinely bored of it (rather than just thirsting for the "fix" of a new title)

As for revisiting old games.... I just can't really spare the time for it, unfortunately - too many games out there I've never played before, and with so little gaming time I would prefer to experience new stuff.

Games I've played and completed more then once are:

Borderlands
Batman AA
Dead Island
Dead Space 1 and 2
Dragon Age
FEAR
Farcry
State Of Decay

And I wouldn't mind playing XCOM again

It takes a very very good game for me to revisit it, that or a short one that's just a good bit of fun.

Portal 1 + 2 - a good bit of fun, relatively short, give it enough time to forget the puzzles and it's a good play through.
Final fantasy 7 and final fantasy 9 are my main two revists though. Infact....i quite fancy another go at FF9 right now....

FO1-3.
Oblivion.
Borderlands 1/2.

Only games I ever completed and only ones I ever replay. Very quickly tire of other non-MP games.

Games I revisit tend to fall into two categories. The first is usually something along the lines of a an easy to get into sort of linear fps title, where I don't have to think much (modding also adds particular incentive for these sorts of situations). The other scenario is a title that I hold in high regard that has strong replay value, such as an fps / rpg open world game (Deus Ex / S.T.A.L.K.E.R.).

Examples of titles that I like to replay are :

Quake 1
F.E.A.R. + Extraction Point / Perseus Mandate
Deus Ex games
Stalker
Fallout

probably once a year I run through all 3 Mass Effect games, just love the story and never get bored of it as you can choose to complete t in a variety of ways.

I think I annually play the campaigns for BFME1 to completion. I have a small handful of old favourites that get that kind of love, but mostly I don't look back after completing a game.

Quite a lot recently, all of the new games are terrible imo.

For example, played Black Flag for about 5 hours and just uninstalled it, so repetetive and boring.

Now I'm on the lookout for a new game to play, but I'll probably end up going back to a 3-4 year old game.

IMO all these new releases are utter garbage.
