To do a level 3 national diploma college course or any full time course in fact?

Why does it feel wrong, out of place as a 30 something to be enrolled in a course mainly composed of 16-19 year olds because of a career change?

Are there any old timers out there at college ?

Recently finished a ND level 3 myself (22 at start, 23 now) and it was quite .. err.. uncomfortable at times to say the least. Rumours soon spread (Pedobear.jpg )
Although it was mostly the guys which seemed to have an issue with it, the girls were quite okay with the situation!

The good points? i managed to finish the whole thing almost 7 months early, so didnt have to put up with them for -too- long :)

nope, there was an oap on my computer course back in 2001, think he was about 68 or so, he got better results then i did lol

Get in there, study, and smash some fresh pasty while you're at it (but don't let the parents catch you)! :D

30 yrs old and doing a B-Tec??

Lol who you been talking to?

I did that when i was 18, and soon found out that it was worth jack within the world, was forced to retake GCSE maths to grade A and do a Entry course at Uni because a B-Tec doesnt give you anywhere close to the UCAS points required for any degree's.

DONT DO A B_TEC ITS USELESS.

im now 22 and i feel that the past 4 years were useless. but got me into uni so meh

What? I just finished a BTEC in IT and now I'll be going to Greenwich Uni to do the BSc Hons IT + Networking course.

Most people managed to get places in uni including a few for computer science.

Can't believe how anyone can fail a BTEC, I spent 80% of my time at college either high or drunk and I got decent grades at the end.

Nevr too old. I'm 32 and have to go to university for courses.

The older you get, the prettier the girls... remember that ;)

Never too old. The lad on our course is about 40, top bloke he is too.

I'm freaking out a little about going to uni at age 24.

I was in college last year and found that out of 20 people there were two people older than me, one guy the same age as me and everyone else was 21 or under. It was slightly daunting at first but you sorta get used to it.

Was worried back at college at 25 would be weird and to my amazement allot of the people in my hnd networking are older than me and a few in the 30's :D

Snap :) Same situation as me!

How old is too old?

When you're dead.

But any time up to then, you're golden. :)

I'm 23, and looking to do an Open University degree next year while I work. I've already been to Uni, not had much success, but I'm determined to get a degree on the right course.

When I was doing a BTEC in Media, there was a mixture of 20-30 year olds. I was one of the youngest there (16 at the time).

Just started a Access Certificate yesterday so that I can get into a course at Uni next year. The class is again a mixture of 20-30 year olds, with me and a few others being the youngest at 20 years old.

I don't believe there is an age that is "too old", actually a lot of the mature students on my course at university achieved very good grades because they knew that they wanted to be there and knew what they wanted to get out of it. It doesn't apply for everyone but if you've made the choice to go to university or college at a later stage in life then it may be that you'll be more focused than many of the other students.
