The store started working for me against last night, and for some other people on reddit suffering from the same bug. They could launch the game but I was still unable to.

I tried uninstalling the game so I could redownload and install them again but it didnt delete the files.

Windows store games are a pain to find the actual files nevermind do anything with them.

So I am in the process of backing up before I format my drivers and reinstall.

Sometimes with the Windows Store for no apparent reason you need to go crazy on it to get it working (hence my post above) - one time I had to follow methods 1 then 3 then 2 here https://troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-windows-store-missing-in-windows-10/ then sign out and back in again if it hasn't signed you out then re-download and reinstall all previously installed games/applications and make sure everything is fully updated (and then remove the ones you don't want again :( ) - or just reinstall the whole OS.

How they can't even get a decent store and repository system working with all the resources they have beats me - plenty of other companies have managed it with far less experience and/or resources.

Aren't all the Store apps files in the same place? I would imagine this includes games?

No, I had FH4 installed on my SSD (D) and Gears 4 installed on HDD (E). The big apps like games can be anywhere you like.
And FH4 isn't even in my list of installed games on the Microsoft Store app. It's a big pile of junk. I'm glad I've only been testing it using the £2 Game Pass offer. There's no way on god's earth I would pay for a Microsoft Store-only game now.

Well was really looking forward to playing, paid on cd keys got my code yay!

went on steam would not work, looked up on steam not even on it libary.

go on windows my old micrsoft gamer accopnt i stopped using because of this horrible service they do.

code get accepted click to down load now sends me to the windows store sorry we can not find.

SERIOUSLY £50 summed up in 10 mins why my mate sold his pc and got aan xbox one x
If you think that's bad.

My experience of MS Store after buying State of Decay 2 Ultimate Edition.
Download and install game on my MS logged in account. Everything fine.
Launch game, please sign into Live. (I'm already signed in through windows....)
Login failed. Numerous attempts to fix. Login Failed. So I can't even play the game. Eventually I find a post on Reddit saying create a new local account.
I create a new login, and sign into Live in the game. It works! Hurrah. Still doesn't work on my main account though...., so I can now play for a few weeks.

Our internet isn't great, 3~5Mbps. So when the 20GB update for State of Decay hit I wasn't too happy. But oh well. I set it updating.
Gets to 18GB done, it decides to 'check' the download. Download restarts. It does this about 3/4 times in total at various stages of downloading. Some of the downloads go above 20GB, one was on around 28GBs downloaded
After numerous hours/days wasted, a new local account created to fix the Xbox app I gave up. Got a refund off them. Thankfully Minecraft hasn't had these problems, yet.

After jumping through hoops found out my over lay was causing to crash, get into the game horrible distorted sound. Find out it's my x-fi card doesn't like the game

MS Store is working again for now...… MS issued a patch which fixed whatever they broke with 1803 update  so strange the OS maker cannot also make a working MS Store  :(

It's **** like that that makes me glad I dropped an old 150GB HDD into my system to use for documents, images and videos.

It's **** like that which makes me glad I've a NAS setup for backup with regular offline snapshots via external USB drives and shares with write once privileges (the original intention to give some protection against crypto malware).

I am actually on board with the OP.

Calling him dim is out of order in my opinion, yes his post is a litte brash, but it's anoying as hell when you need to try and figure stuff out, unexpectedly, when all you want to do is play the new game you baught.

I remember Games for Windows Live, what a nightmare....
Agreed, for the life of me I couldn't get Forza 7 to work smoothly on my PC. Had download issues, the game wouldn't launch then when I fixed those the frame rate would fluctuate between 0 and 70+. The store is terrible and did drive me to go get an Xbox (maybe that's their plan).

I guarantee some of you whinging in this thread about windows store aren't even running a genuine windows copy.

Absolute given yet your still complain.

Ms plan by the way is for first party games to be on PC not to get you to buy an xbox. They are thinking long term service provisions not just in the next few years. They have said this a million times over the past few years.

100% legal copy of Windows 10 that is fully updated. Still have constant problems, try again :p

The "maybe that's their plan" was in jest. I get their crossplay/play anywhere philosophy but I have no end of issues with MS store games (Forza 6 apex, Forza 7, Forza H3, GoW 4 etc), where Steam and Origins are much more stable.

I thought it was quite apt - they need to get Windows users to pay for Xbox Live gold somehow. :p

All mine all legit :p Silly comment as well Win 10 is still technically FREE! Who needs a non legit copy. The Store is poor always has been. MS do not assign enough QA resource to it so left hand does not know the right hand is breaking it with the latest OS update

As for Xbox1 games appearing on Win 10 its mainly because it requires minimal changes to have both versions working so they are porting for almost free as the new SDKs take account of this minimal difference. MS would rather make their games on Win 10 than a PC gamer buy a PS4 ;)
