www.portforward.com

Foll the instructions on there, and set it up accordingly.

Find your IP address prior to creating the server, and add :27015 to the end.

This is your server ip.

How its always worked for me anyway :)

i used to create a 10man cs_mansion server in the old days of CS and back then it'd take up to 10mins before my computer/server could be seen by my friends/public.

may take a while for your server to be updated to the many servers that already exist.

Go to http://www.whatsmyip.info/ and get your IP

Start a local game

To connect to the game, your friend needs to know your IP and the port is 27015 (by default)

Go into the Console and type sv_lan 0 (this allows people to connect via the internet)

Tell you friend to go into his Console and type connect ip:port (with your IP and port). eg connect 192.111.111.10:27015

You MAY need to forward the following ports on your Router:
UDP 27015 and 27020
TCP 27015

When making a server for CS:S, I use create server and set the options I want. Then, when its loaded I go into console and type 'sv_lan 0'. Then I type 'map "map you want"' Then my friends can see it. I assume the same principle applies to CS 1.6

Okay new problem :D

When I go to dedicated server it has all the maps that you get as standard but no surf maps (3rd party etc)

Any ideas?
