Slightly lazy responses really.
Slightly lazy responses really. Not everything should be ignored just because you can attribute some small part of the problematic behaviour to the complainant.
No. We just need to use some Common Sense.

Offended about being offended?
That's OK, I forgive you, but I literally don't care. And guess what? I've broken no rules in saying so!
Participant have you always lived in Warwickshire or is that something new?
Yup... and intolerant about intolerance.
That is unrealistic these days...(see previous examples) thus more robust legislation would be better.
Steve Hughes.
You are failing to see that it is a vast majority of these new 'robust' laws that are the cause of all the problems, making even more laws to 'protect' people from being 'offended' will only make things worse.
It is physically impossible to quantify 'offence' in Law, you might take offence to something that everyone else finds funny. No single individual can define 'offensive' as it is completely subjective and therefore different for each and every one of us.
Common Sense needs to be used and if that's simply a case of 'Get over it..' so be it. Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.
You're failing to understand that I've not proposed anything of the sort - re-read the post you initially quoted. I'm interested in protecting free speech.
