How to find out your phone number?

We have a phone socket in our house and it had a dial tone. Is there a way to discover its phone number?

Obviously ive tried to ring my mobile from it but outgoing calls are barred. Is there a way of discovering its number?

Phone up BT and give them your address and I think they can tell you what number it is or if it is active etc.

Cant you dial 17070? if the line is an withheld number then you will need to unwith held it and dial 1470-17070

Use your mobile.
start at 00000 0000000 and increment by 1 each time.
When it rings, you've found the number

plug a phone in and dial 17070. Listen to voice on other end.

also, press 2 for a quiet line test if you want.

17070 is for quiet line tests isn't it? 174 used to tell you what number you're connected to. Try that

I find that if you dial the number 17070 you should be able to find out your phone number. Dont listen to these other noobs!!!!!
