How to get into motor racing as a kid/teen - any racers on here?

I've sacked off the whole idea as it's too expensive. Harsh but this is the reality unfortunately.

Have you thought about speedway or Motorcross? A lot of my childhood friends were doing that as kids. I know it isn't four wheels but a lot cheaper.

Although looking it seems Speedway has declined massively over the years.

Overclock your computer and get into sim racing. Do well there and he might get picked up to race in GT3 etc. Some have made that transition.

If you are of the mindset that just being out there is fun then you can do it relatively inexpensively….relatively. If you have any form of competition in your body and want to progress it will never ever be inexpensive. If you are really talented, I don’t mean quick now and again, I mean a proper front runner you are still massively unlikely to build a career as a driver alone.

There is a reason that horse racing is the sport of kings….they can’t afford motor racing
