How to get the water out of my ears

Be gentle with the ear!

As someone who suffered from surfer's ear and had a recent operation to fix it, you may wanna get your ear checked out if it constantly gets blocked after swimming, bathing etc as you can get nasty infections and it could be a narrowing of the ear canal.

Same here, recently had a myringotomy and get blocked air pockets behind the ear drums all the time. I went partially deaf at one point and it was not nice.

You really can't be too careful with your ears.

Usually some vigerous head shaking is enough to get it loose for me.

This and...

Feeling that warm trickle out of your ear after hours of having it blocked has to be one of the greatest experiences ever.

This.

When I was a kid I remember my Dad did some worryingly vigorous head shaking whenever he gets out the pool, was afraid some brain might slide out.

I find jumping on the spot two or three times shifts it.

You end up looking like a prat, but this works. Stiffen your body and jump and land (Stiffly) on your heels. This works for me on occasions when it just won't come out.

Also, that old "pilot technique", don't use it if you have a cold. Your are likely to blow mucus into your sinus.
