I didn't think you needed to 'install' anything with ntl broadband? Don't you just attach the ethernet cable from the STB to your NIC and Bob's your uncle. That's what you do with the modem anyway. Don't use USB at all if you don't have to.

I'm not using a network card, i'm using the onboard LAN. The same thing happens even with an NIC.
