    Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. How to know if SLI is enabled?

Right click on your desktop, goto Nvidia control panel and check in there, couldn't be simpler really ;)

You should also be able to enable a SLi visual indicator from within the control panel which will let you know the SLi scaling in game.
 
Sometimes you need to uninstall the driver, restart your PC then wait for Windows to detect new hardware, re install driver, restart PC, then you should get a popup from the tray saying that SLI is available to enable click the popup. You should then see SLI settings within the Nvidia control panel.

Even if the SLI bridge wasn't working both cards should show up in the Nvidia control panel so you can set one as the PhysX card.

Try this

Go into bios
Go to advanced menu
Select chipset
Select north bridge selection
Change mode from auto to 16x1 mode with + and - keys
Then save and exit with f10

See if that works.
