How to overclock a 7850 past 1050MHz?

Thanks for that - I've been following another guys thread on here which has been very helpful. I have been OC'ing in MSI Afterburner and testing the OC in Unigine Valley each time. I've been stepping the coreclock up up 25MHz each time however I can't go past 1050Mhz in Afterburner.

Not sure what I need to do now...

Anyone else here got the HIS 7850 2GB IceQ? From looking at this thread it appears to be a poor overclocker which is a shame.

Mine currently sits at 1150/1200. Anything higher than 1150 on the core seems to send it unstable.

What clocks did you guys get on this card?

so i got the HD7850 OC from gigabyte.

can i whack in the settings from post #11 and be done with it or do i have to do that whole 25mhz malarky?

ive never OC'd anything before.

Well you could try the settings though there is no guarantee that it will work with your card. Every card is different. Even two Gigabyte HD 7850 OC you buy from the same vendor. You have to try for yourself how far you can go. Thats why you do this small 25mhz steps.

A pretty save bet though would be to increase the core clock to 1050mhz as this is the official AMD upper limit. But better use the MSI afterburner for OC than catalyst control center. A pretty good guide for AB and some OC tipps (read through the thread) is here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18431335

Happy OCing :)

I installed GPU tweak but there is no option to open up all the higher clock options, now it wont let me uninstall it as it keeps coming up with an error, even system restore wont work, help!

Here its me again..... :D

I cant get over 1225VDDC with trixx (and all other tools) i need a Modded bios but for an 1gb Version of the 7850.
I have the XFX 7850 1gb Core Edition with Accelero Twin Turbo II Attached.

Maybe someone have a moddet bios for the 1gb version? now?. thanks in advance

I returned my MSI 7850 1GB card with an ASIC of 68.8% for a Sapphire 7850 OC 2GB card with an ASIC of... 72% :(

This card too has a stock voltage of 1,21V. At least I managed to OC it to a stable 1150core @ 1,22V. The MSI wouldn't go above 1100core. With a stock voltage of 1,21V I have no room upwards (max 1,225V) without a bios flash so the 1200core and beyond remain unreachable for me.
A friend of mine also bought the Sapphire 7850 OC 2GB and also got an ASIC of about 72%. Are people with >80% just extremely lucky?

Also, the stock memory clock is 1250mhz. When I OC it to 1275 or 1300 I get slightly smaller benchmark scores and slightly less FPS. 1350 and above and I get crashes. Does this mean that the best memory configuration would be at 1250? Or do I gain something at 1300 even if the benchmark is slightly less?

Hi all. I have Gigabyte HD7850OC 2GB, ASIC 64% :(
It's stock voltage is 1.21V and it's unstable even at 1040MHz. Max stable clock is 1030MHz. Temps are 27°C idle, 58°C load.
And stock memory clock is 1200mhz, when i OC above 1210mhz it starts to show artifacts.

Is there any way to OC more?

spec: Z77A-G45, 3570K, 8GB DDR3, Seasonic S12II 620W

p.s. sorry for my bad english :D

My card's the Gigabyte 7850 2GB (with windforce 2x cooler). It doesn't OC that much, which is pretty disappointing, but I've got it stable at 1100/5000 @1.225v. On the plus side, it rarely gets over 55c at full load.

Side question; what do people think of Heaven 4.0 vs 3.0 as a benchmark and in general?

I am trying to overclock my Gigabyte 7580 OC 2GB and I am having a few problems.

Max I can do so far is 1050MHz on the core. I don't understand how you are all seeing your voltage, I only have voltage readings in %. So stock is 100% and I can increase it to 120% - how do I see the voltages?

Also, CCC starts with my system startup so I am wondering if it is clashing with ASUS GPU Tweak - do I need to uninstall CCC or is there a way to disable it without uninstalling?

Thanks.

So I managed to get it to 1125MHz Core and 5800MHz Memory using Gigabyte OC-Guru.

Can't get voltage higher than 1.223V so I don't think I can push it any further - if I go to 1150 I fail on test 7 of Heaven.

Are the Gigabyte cards limited to 1.223V or is there a way to push it a little further?

Gigabyte are pretty stingy with their voltage limits. On my HD7770 OC they only allowed me to go up to 1.2v. However you can try these alternatives which might give you more voltage headroom.

Afterburner allowed me 1.25v - http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/msi_afterburner_beta_download.html

Trixx allowed me 1.35v - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ginfyzbap9y616r/Sapphire TRIXX v4.4.0b MOD.exe

Nah both of those only let me go to 1.223 as well :/

Oh well it is still a reasonable OC considering I never even knew I could OC the card when I bought it :) My first ever GPU overclock :)

so i tried this last night on my gigabyte.

i got the one bit to 1005MHZ and another bit to 5800MHZ and then played crysis 3 multiplayer for around an hour and a bit with no issues.

im really clueless on what im doing but looks like i might try that trixx thing or Gigabyte OC guru instead as i didnt seem to get the correct voltage bits to display in the asus program.
