How to root, install Cyanogen Mod - HTC One Mini M4

It is indeed :D

Now just going to get it up and running with basic stuff, then will relock bootloader/put stock recovery on

Great, make sure to flash the recovery first before you relock the bootloader, otherwise it won't let you flash it :p. On the other hand, relocking is not really necessary, OTA updates will still work with the bootloader unlocked. In fact I would be tempted to leave it unlocked, just in case an update messes up something and you need to restore the phone (which happened to my M7 last week...).

Mm, but I may well be selling it soon and getting an M8 or similar, so I assume I would have to relock the bootloader for this?

To relock, it's fastboot oem lock right?

you don't need to tbh, just sell it as unlocked, although i would restore the stock rom.

and yes, that's the fastboot command.

Thanks

Stock ROM is on now, on the MM you have to sell it in original firmware etc so I assume this means relocking the bootloader?

Not really, it's more of a flag of it allowing you to flash custome firmware. In fact unlocking the bootloader in the first place is a bit of a hassle due to it requiring the HTC token, might be best to sell it unlocked.

Do you know how to get rid of the **TAMPERED** and ** RELOCKED ** signs? I have Stock ROM and relocked bootloader now with stock recovery also

You need to be rooted and S-OFF to remove it. Not sure on the exact steps for the mini but this was for the M7:

Looking at the M8 guide it seems the only different step was "echo -ne" as it points to a certain part of the memory. Not sure what it would be for the M4. As for getting S-OFF, if it's like the current situation with both the M7 and M8, Sunshine is the only way now which sadly costs $10.
